This Victorian mansion block was completely rebuilt internally, using materials and finishes to create a space reflecting traditional detailing as well as a sense of luxury. Our client was interested in recapturing the lost grandeur of this property. To do this we referenced the property’s past by opening the rooms to their original footprint.

Careful consideration was given to the design of materials used for the specialist cabinetry throughout the house, with hardwoods and veneers such as oak and mahogany utilised. By working closely with UK specialists we were able to reinstate lost decorative mouldings for cornicing and ceiling panels; but also wall panelling, inspired by the timber panelling of the great libraries of English country homes.
The result is a reinvigorated yet functional, elegant, sophisticated and understated home that is thoroughly equipped to withstand the rigours of busy family life.
