Tim Flynn at Urban Talks in Moscow
Tim Flynn joined the panel of speakers at the latest Moscow Urban Talks on the topic of “School architecture as a tool for individual development”.
Russian and international experts discussed how school architecture affected children’s behaviour and development, how to create school spaces that were comfortable and interesting, whether architecture could be an effective tool for individual development, and how to apply the latest advances in human science to school design.
One of the case studies on the agenda was Tim Flynn Architects project UWC Dilijan College, the first international boarding school in Eastern Europe and the CIS, with students coming from 72 countries. The school was the first development in Armenia to achieve certification according to BREEAM green building standards.
The event was attended by Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow, and Tatiana Vasileva, Deputy Head of the Moscow Government Department of Education.
