UWC Dilijan College is Armenia’s first BREEAM Certified Building

The building of UWC Dilijan College is the first in Armenia to receive an international BREEAM certification with the level of “good” in the overall rating of eco-efficiency of buildings.

BREEAM is one of the most well-known methods and leading assessment systems of eco-efficient design solutions and construction from planning to commissioning. Around the world, BREEAM certification is perceived as a sign of a building’s environmental quality and its compliance with international “green” norms.

According to the method, the assessment of UWC Dilijan College included such solutions as green roofs, green walls and the building management system (BMS), as well as scores for the categories of health, energy efficiency, safety and security, water, materials, recycling, ecology, land-utilization, and pollution, while the environmental footprint of buildings was also assessed.
