Tim Flynn to present at the 4th International Green Roof Congress in Istanbul

Under the motto “Explore the Nature on Rooftops” successful solutions for sustainable urban development and practical Green Roof technology will be presented, discussed and taught as well as the latest achievements in science and technology. Certified Green Roof experts, designers, landscape architects, landscape contractors, plant experts and delegates of municipal authorities will be sharing their knowledge and answering questions.
Tim Flynn has been invited to speak about the UWC Dilijan College project, the first building in Armenia to receive a BREEAM certification.
Together with Udo Dagnebach, German landscape architect from Glasser & Dagenbach, the stunning landscape design for the grounds, walls, roof and surrounds of UWC Dilijan College was created.
“Blend with nature” theme of this sustainable school design includes 4750 sqm of green roof and 1500 sqm of living walls and reflects the tranquillity of the mountainous surroundings.
Rather than creating a manicured lawn, Armenian wildflower species of plants were collected, harvested and used by students and local population to create the effect of an extension to the National Park.
